Nepali Community Center Orlando had celebrated ‘Vijaya Dashami and Shubha Deepawali 2076’ with various cultural activities here at Goldenrod Civic Center, in Orlando, Florida on October 13, 2019. The program was great success with more than 100 participants from Orlando and nearby areas (Tampa, West Palm Beach, Miami, Daytona Beach etc.). The program was divided in to two parts. The formal program was started with lighting Diya and worshipping in the portrait of Durga Bhavani by respected Priest Mr. Samjee Poudel who had put ‘Tikka’ and ‘Jamara’ with blessings to the participants.
In the program, students from Nepali Pathsala Orlando has performed Nepali as well as American National Anthem, whereas Ladies from Nepali Community Arati Rai, Amita Devkota, Anju Shrestha, Laxmi Chaulagain, Binu Pathak, Geeta Neupane, Sarada Malla, Samikshya Ghimire, Jharana Chapagain, Rimala Bhattarai etc. had performed Dashain Tihar welcome songs, written and tuned by Ms Arati Rai. Addressing the welcome speech, the President of NCCO and Chairperson of the program, Mr. Nijananda Malla had welcomed all the participants and had presented the brief summary of NCCO’s objectives of celebrating festivals. At the program, on behalf of Nepali Student Organization of UCF (NaSa) President Mr. Sabin Regmi, Coordinator of Nepali Pathsala Dr. Nagendra Dhakal, From Ncco Donner Member Mr. Rajendra Shrestha, have had their brief Shubhakamana Speech, whereas, former President of United FNA-FANS (Currently known as NAF) Mr. Bikash Devkota has talked about ‘Muthi Daan’, the way of collecting small donation from many people so that the organization could be led towards the fulfillment of its objectives.
Besides of Shubhakamana Speech, there were various dance performance as a key attraction of the program. Nepali Pathsals’s students Krisha Dhakal, Diya Maharjan, Dhanisha Thapa, Sophiya Acharya, Bishnu Lakandri, and Sania Dhungana have shown their dance talent on various songs, whereas a beautiful surprise dance on the song ‘Jau Jau Railaima….’was performed by Laxmi Chaulaigai and Anita Thapa.
In the program Mr. Dev Rai and Binod Baral had shown their own talent on playing flute.
Addressing Subhakamana Speech, the chief guest of the program, President of Nepalese Association of Florida (NAF) Dr. Chuda Khanal had thanked to NCCO team for organizing the program as well as he had informed about the Dashan Celebration at West Palm Beach on October 20, 2019 organized by NAF.
On the program the chief guest Dr. Khanal, and Chairperson Mr. Malla had jointly awarded the students whoever have taken participation on showing their talents with gifts.
While addressing thank you speech, Vice President of NCCO Ms. Geeta Neupane thanked all participants for presenting in the program despite of their valuable time, and contributing on making this program successful, whereas MC and General Secretary of NCCO Mr. Damodar Pokharel has announced the closing of the formal program after delivering thank you note to all guests, volunteers, and participants for their presence.
After the completion of the formal program, the Bingo game was conducted by Immediate Past President of NCCO Mr. Siwali Shakya, and Coordinator of Nepali Pathsala Orlando, Dr. Nagendra Dhakal.
Also Nepali ladies had enjoyed with group dance as well as photography after the Bing. In the program, after the Arati of ‘Durga Bhavani’ by Priest Mr. Samjee Poudel, Arati Rai, and others, all the participants were enjoying their Dinner. NCCO has managed Snacks and Dinner for the program, where as Treasurer of NCCO Mr. Dinesh Maharjan, and Executive Member Mr. Laxman Thapa had contributed on handling registration of guests, and Executive Member Dr. Kalu Bhattarai, and other volunteers Narayan Neupane, Surya Thapa, Tanka Chapagain, Madan Pudasaini, etc. had contributed on setting up and managing the snacks and dinner.
